Foul Balls — I understand what Jon Stewart is saying here, and I do find it funny, but as Michael David Smith notes at FanHouse , it is pretty reasonable for the NFL to be more worried about gambling than dog-fighting. Sure, Vick's case is a black eye on a league that's had more than it's fair share of run-ins with the law lately, but it's not going to kill the league. Gambling on the other hand, could bring it down. After all, it's what the NFL is built on. With the growth of internet gambling sites, and fantasy football in general, you can bet on just about anything that has to do with the NFL, and people do. If a scandal were to break out like the Tim Donaghy situation in the NBA, it could bring the league to it's knees. The odds of that happening by the way are 10/1, and I'm willing to accept your wagers.
