When Jones found out Tuesday morning that Taylor, the Washington Redskins Pro Bowl safety, had died from his wound at the age of 24, he was shaken. Jones and Taylor were not friends, far from it, but they had a special bond, an adversarial relationship and closeness that can only be forged on a football field.
