To the comment listed above. I don't think that the comment was just be we are americans first and foremost. We have had people die for this man's right to have poor judgement and talk against our national anthem. He represents the NBA not the NFL. That just shows that you only see a uneducated blackman spouting out ignorant comments. You don't care to know who represents. I am a black man and grew up in a uppermiddle class neighborhood. I had it good and am currently going to college without any scholarships. The truth is this country for 3 decades have been ideal and the rest of our history has had a dark past filled with racism and unjust laws. There are many who feel that these laws still way minorities down and with a ending comment like the one that you left "we white people." I can see that we have a long way to go. He should be punished for his statement or at least sent to some type of tolerance class and so should you.
