Josh Howard available? Let's talk, Mr. Cuban Links4
The prevailing wisdom is that Michael Redd's contract mostly precludes the possibility of getting anything aside from future picks, middling talent, and expiring contracts back, but the Mavericks could represent the perfect trade partner. [link]

You can have him.     Didn't help Mavs do anything to win anything.

Howard & filler for that ridiculous contract would be a steal. And if Josh could teach Ruffin to mellow out a bit, all the better.

Bucks Fans Like Josh Howard
Published 5/1/2008 by Wes Cox at Mavs Moneyball: Front Page Posts
... The Bucks blog Brew Hoop has a post up today saying the Milwaukee should be making a play for the seemingly available Josh Howard. He proposes a Stackhouse and Howard for Redd trade and thinks it could make sense for both teams.  The Bucks save some money and Dallas gets a serious offensive threat to to play next to Dirk. Overall, the chance to add a player of Howard's abilities while also helping mitigate future luxury tax concerns would seem hard to beat at this point, unless Hammond and Skiles think they can get more out of Redd by ...

... Lately I have been theorizing on the prudence of trading Michael Redd while it is still possible to get reasonably fair value in return to anyone who will listen. Well BrewHoop poses an interesting trade scenario. Suddenly out of favor Dallas forward Josh Howard and Stack for Redd. I like it. Howard can be just as productive offensively as Redd is without being as big of a defensive liability. Stack is older but has always been an underrated scorer (although his defense is about on par with Redd's) and could bring some veteran leadership. Dallas gets the best 2 ...

GM Hammond: Redd is not "untouchable" in trade talks
Published 5/13/2008 by J.D. Mo at The Bob Boozer Jinx
... enough to be the starter, Simmons' career has floundered in Milwaukee and his rehab from ankle and foot surgery has been slow. Bobby's overpaid, signed on for $20 million over the next two years. Hammond won't get much back in a trade for Simmons alone, but Simmons and Charlie Bell and a draft pick? That could net a player. Hammond could trade Redd for a small forward (say, to Dallas for Josh Howard, BrewHoop's favorite trade) which would leave no space on the ...
