... Peter Vescey's Sunday column in the New York Post boasted plenty of NBA rumors and two of them were dismissed right away. The Pacers have already stated they won't comment about the rumor that team president Larry Bird will step down after this season. The team says Bird's comments from before the preseason (that he's hear for the long haul) is still true. Now Vescey's other rumor about the Cavs being interested in signing Pacers reject Jamaal Tinsley is also false. Cleveland.com is reporting that sources have vehemently denied any contact with Tinsley. ...

However, the key difference is that last year’s team started out 0-4 in the preseason before winning 3 of 4 in the final 4 games as they began to hit their stride heading into the season. This year’s preseason was the complete opposite. After starting out 3-0 in the most meaningless preseason games, the Cavs ended up going 1-4 down the stretch and hardly look like a team that is starting to hit their stride. The Cavaliers string of bad luck this preseason has been well documented. The team has been hammered by illness ...
