K-Rod has winter plans
Francisco Rodriguez threw a bullpen session in Venezuela on Wednesday as he gears up to play winter ball in his native Venezuela for Tiburones. K-Rod annually plays winter ball, and plans to continue to do so despite signing a three-year, $37 million contract with the Mets last offseason. Rodriguez, 27, went 3-6 with a 3.71 ERA and 35 saves in 42 chances in 2009.
