Derek Carty Eddie Guardado was actually traded shortly after I finished writing this piece, and Frank Francisco is closing in Texas. This makes him a better pickup now for keeper leaguers. If he's successful, he could enter 2009 as the closer (C.J. Wilson will still be trying to retake the job, though). -
Derek Carty Also, Jon Rauch is still allowing runs, so if Lyon loses the job, it could instead go to Tony Pena or (probably less likely) Chad Qualls. If it does and Pena pitches well, he'd enter 2009 as the likely closer.
