Ian Kennedy took a ball off his right hip in the seventh inning, right on the belt line. That was the last batter he was facing regardless. He expects there will be a bruise but he doesn’t expect to have any problems making his next start. Derek Jeter (left quad) didn’t run as hard as he could but said he emerged with no discomfort.
