Kerry Wood Says Hi To The Viewing Audience
Kerry Wood Says Hi To The Viewing Audience
The White Sox and Cubs were tied in the 7th inning today when FOX decided to go to a quick shot of Kerry Wood. Well Wood had a message for the viewing audience.... I don't think there has ever been a more perfectly timed shot of an MLB player in the history of television. Good work FOX and a great job by you Thom Brennaman playing it off. Deadspin — ... hitters in the game" by teammate Matt Murton, Aramis Ramirez failed to take advantage of a lead-off double in the 9th by Derrek Lee. With one out and Lee on third, Bobby Jenks forced the Cubbie into grounding out weakly to short when a sac fly would've sent the game to extra frames. Carlos Quentin took Carlos Marmol deep in the 7th to put the Pale Hose up 6-5 for good. Today the White Sox try to avenge the sweep at Wrigley earlier this month. Call it a hunch, but the camera may not be checking in with Kerry Wood today. ...

Beer Vendor’s Second Job is Saving the World
SPORTSbyBROOKS — While we’re enjoying the friskiness of fans and players alike for the Cubs/White Sox series (and more than our fair share of awkward moments ), we’d like to share the story of one man who wins no matter the victor when the Cubs and/or White Sox play. That’s Adam Carter , a beer vendor for both teams. Adam Carter, beer vendor and philanthropist Carter’s true passion isn’t baseball; it’s philanthropy. That’s why he spends the baseball off-season traveling across the world, making small donations to needy people without the auspices of major ...

Smells Like Padres in Here - Wednesday Edition
Gaslamp Ball — ... Fastest game ever at Coors Field.  The Padres lost on five singles and 79 pitches from Aaron Cook.  At Coors Field.  Awful team, awful manager. Germano is still sucking in Portland. Kerry Wood salutes you. Randy Wolf takes on Ubaldo Jimenez tonight.  The most exciting thing about tonight's game is that Dex and Jon will be stalking that attractive stadium reporter in the stands.  But they should honestly cancel tonight's game by reasoning that neither team deserves to play another game ...

We Who Are About To Die Salute You [MLB Closer]Deadspin
The Cubs really don't have a reasonable explanation as to why they suck so relatively badly on the road. The White Sox beat the Cubs 5-1 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep, the North side's eighth loss in the past 12 games. And here we see Mr. Kerry Wood trying to explain it, as you probably saw in Sunday's Closer. If it were up to me, I'd run this photo every day until the end of ...
