Home-plate umpire Kerwin Danley briefly lost consciousness after being hit under the jaw with a 96 mph fastball in the fourth inning of the Dodgers-Rockies game on Saturday night, and after a delay was taken from the field on an ambulance.

... Danley was smoked in the jaw by a pitch Saturday during the Los Angeles Dodgers-Colorado Rockies game, having to leave the field in an ambulance. He lost consciousness for a moment, but was aware of his surroundings when he was loaded onto the stretcher and placed in the emergency vehicle.
