Joking about blowing out Tom Brady's knee, on the other hand:  totally appropriate.

While ESPN's joke was distasteful...and shouldn't have been published, rusty weathers joke is somehow classic.

I agree...I'm definitely not a fan of the Boston sports scene, but to put that as an option in the poll? Forget about distasteful, it would just seem like bad karma. How would whomever at ESPN made the decision to post the poll feel if KG really did get hurt?

Now if you want a reason to hate the Patriots.....

C'mon, a couple Tom Brady dislocated fingers on his thowing hand? Who'd complain then?

ESPN Has No Class, Part 2
Published 12/8/2007 by redsarmy at RedsArmy.com: The Voice Of Celtics Fans
... I figured KG’s response to this deserved its own post. Wow, that’s really distasteful, man. Man, I mean, that’s my life, my career. You don’t joke about something like that.” Garnett then leaned toward the nearest door - made of wood, naturally - and rapped his knuckles on it, before asking a team official to contact ESPN to register his dismay. “That’s classless,” Doc Rivers said. “I know it’s a joke, but you should never wish for someone’s injury. That’s all I have to say about that, but it’s ...

ESPN takes "joke poll" too far?
Published 12/8/2007 by Alessandro at Parquet Wishes and Leprechaun Dreams
If you've ever visited the Page 2 section of ESPN.Com (sports.espn.go.com), you know that their humor tends to be a bit on the "edgy" side of things ... I have no problem with that, but yesterday's poll (poking fun at all the recent success that the Boston sports teams have had and the jealousy this has stirred up in the rest of the country) may have crossed a line: ...

KG : Page 2 Sucks

... Given that he’s been wearing Celtic green for less than 3 months, it seems a little unfair for Kevin Garnett to be targeted so soon by a sporting populace sick to death of Brady/Belichick/BoSox/Bill Simmons/Dickie Barrett. That didn’t stop the smart-alecks at ESPN.com, however, much to the Boston center’s chagrin, as the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy explains. ...

... . It's not that I agree with her comments. I just hate the current climate. The witch hunts, apologies, suspensions, firings, and everything else. Meanwhile, between Hill's column and the Kevin Garnett "blow out his knee" poll you have to admit that ESPN has shown a lack of judgment of late. And this is for a network that prides itself on being squeaky clean and seemingly looking down on those who are not. I'm sure someone is even working on a "ESPN hates the Celtics" angle. Back to the issue at hand. I'm not arguing for racist, misogynistic, or hateful programming or articles. ...
