Here's what Mel Kiper wrote about Brett Favre before the '91 draft. Favre, a second-round pick of the Falcons, wasn't even the first QB selected in that draft. Dan McGwire, brother of baseball star Mark McGwire, was selected 16th overall by Seattle. This kid is a competitor, possesses above average physical skills, and did his damage against top competition during his four years as the starter. To a certain extent, he is still recovering from the painful injuries he sustained in the car accident and ensuing surgery.
