 Kirilenko, Anyone? Links3
Whilst we're discussing our power forward situation (Shareef has tied up Justin Williams in the poll, somewhat suprisingly), we might as well mention Andrei Kirilenko's trade request . The problem for AK-47 (and the Jazz) is that he's rather untradeable -- as in, there's no real salary match any team would be willing to give up for him. As for as the Kings go, Kirilenko's contract goes one ... [link]

To Keep Or Not To Keep

... . For Shawn Marion . That d be an interesting trade. And Sactown Royalty is visiting trade opportunities (3-way deals seem to be the way) to land AK in California. Here s the big problem. AK wants out because he doesn t want to be the fourth option (behind Carlos Boozer , Mehmet Okur and Deron Williams in no particular order). He feels that he deserves more touches on offense. Marion is having the same problem in Phoenix being the 4th option in Utah isn t much better than being the 3rd option in Phoenix. And the Jazz aren t going to trade AK to a team in return for the team s 12th man and their ball-boy. The other problem deals with AK (the type of player he is) and the contract. Again, it s a max contract. Only the best players in the league get it (okay, I lie it s being tossed around fairly freely now). AK is an amazing defender, no doubt. He is everywhere on the court when he wants to be. The problem (be it wit ...

Bringing AK Back

... The genesis of this deal was cribbed from Sactown Royalty poster "HrdRockTroy," and I took the liberty of adding wing depth to the Clippers and outside shooting to the Jazz in the form of Tim Thomas. Sure it leaves the Kings without a point guard, but they can always trade for Jason Williams' expiring contract in an attempt to at least lose 55 games in a more entertaining fashion. ...

... that had the Jazz getting Thomas and Maggette, the Clippers getting Mike Bibby, and the Kings getting Kirilenko.  It's interesting that he thinks the Jazz would be interested in this package, but the real question is why would the Clippers participate in that little menage-a-trois?  Wouldn't the Clippers rather have Kirilenko than Bibby?  Especially if they lose Thomas AND Maggette?  Of course the fact that this trade proposal started from a comment on a Sactown Royalty post explains the Kings' presence in the room, but the Clippers and Jazz could make this deal happen all by themselves. ...

Jazz Notes (Ross Siler, Steve Luhm)

Andrei Kirilenko needs to explain himself. In English. To the folks in Utah. Not to some Russian newspaper. Not to some Russian blog that he apparently was contributing to throughout the European championships. It's hard to misconstrue what Kirilenko ...
