JON KITNA OUT, LIONS ACTIVATE HENSON
Published 10/12/2008 by Michael David Smith at ProFootballTalk.com
Lions quarterback Jon Kitna won’t play today at Minnesota after suffering a back injury last week against the Bears. Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports that the Lions have downgraded Kitna from doubtful to out . It’s not known if Kitna made the trip to Minneapolis, but if he did, he’ll be watching the game in street clothes. The Lions have also signed quarterback Drew Henson from the practice squad to the active roster, and he will be the No. 3 quarterback today. Henson is best known for his days as a schoolboy athlete, when he was considered one of the best prospects in the ...

Black and Blue all over: Game day, Lions move

... Henson is probably the Lions' healthiest quarterback. Dan Orlovsky, who is expected to start, was on the injury report all week because of a sore ankle. No. 3 quarterback Drew Stanton is still recovering from a sprained right thumb. All of which makes it even more likely that the Lions will try, against logic and conventional wisdom, to run the ball Sunday against Minnesota's stout run defense. ...
