Chalk beat me into the editing room for footage of Kerwin Danley’s unfortunate situation. Those umps really count on the catcher to protect them, and I swear that’s the first mistake I’ve seen Russell Martin make in three years. You almost have to feel for him as much as you do for Danley.
Anyways, that was the second knockout of the evening. The first one came in the very first inning.

... as it turns out, Mike Maddux appears to have been a positive influence--though not overwhelmingly so--over the last five years.
Some injuries:
Scott Baker left his start last night with a groin strain , leaving the Twins wondering if they'll have any starting pitching left by June, and dejectedly realizing that the Rangers have Sidney Ponson this year.
Kevin Correia got all of one out before leaving with a back injury. Ouch.
Kerwin Danley got hit. Hard. (Link has video.)
