I got home from Staples Center 3 hours ago and I'm still buzzing from game. It's an incredible feat that the Lakers rallied from down 20 against the defending champs in any case, but to happen in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals... it's just another chapter in this great rivalry.

The Internets are alive: Spurs at Lakers, Game 1
Ball Don't Lie —
... The Association: "I really felt that the Lakers needed to open Game 1 with a similar flurry as they did with Utah. The Spurs were weary from a long series against NOLA and I figured the Lakers would roll. Instead, Kobe opened the first half in full-blown facilitator mode. Four minutes into the game it was quite obvious that both Odom and Fisher were still in Salt Lake City and Kobe needed to become aggressive to get the Lakers out of their funk. Postcards From LA, Vol. 11: One Lakers Fan Tracks His Team Through the NBA Playoffs

Bryant Dominates Second Half as Lakers Erase 20 Point Deficit to Edge Spurs
20secondtimeout.blogspot.com 5/22/2008 — Kobe Bryant scored 25 second half points as the Lakers came back from a 65-45 third quarter deficit to beat the Spurs 89-85. Tim Duncan repeatedly trapped Bryant on pick and roll only to see Bryant lob passes over his head to Pau Gasol for easy hoops; in last year's Finals, Duncan played off of the weak-shooting LeBron James and denied him the opportunity to make such passes.
Lakers Take/Spurs Give Away Game 1 —

The San Antonio Spurs surely would've taken any scenario in which Kobe Bryant would score just two points in the first half and they would have a 20-point lead in the second half. Put those two together and you can generally scratch off one in the win ...
