TheHype Woah... I thought Telfair was exiled into basketball purgatory by now?-
RedBaron Not anymore--the Celtics cut him. :)

Atma Brother #1 Send Kobe to the worst team in the league to play for a managment that admitted they tanked?
Celtics' fans = Delusional

Jordan Delusional is being kind. Kobe has the treasured 'no trade' claus in his contract, therefore there's no way he'd allow the Lakers to exile him like that.

Erin I have whiplash from the number of times this story has gone back and forth in the last week. -
Redsauce I agree. Kobe denies...Kobe demands, but denies he demanded...Kobe causes Buss to go drunk driving...apparently Kobe doesn't need Shaq to cause drama. -
RedsArmy Ugh.... Kobe on the Celtics?? No F'ing way!
I know... I know... he's so great and blah, blah, blah. All I know is that he helped blow up a team that won him 3 rings... and now he's bitching that they haven't won him another one in the past few years.
Boo friggin hoo Kobe. I'm still hoping you get traded to Memphis and you spend the rest of your career in the Draft Lottery.

mwaller first of all I understand his frustration, how can the lakers expect him to continue to carry this team and they fall apart in the playoffs? he's not superman and I don't think anyone else thinks that either. The lakers told him they would get players around him that will make the team better, didn't happen, what is he supposed to do? I don't want to see him leave but i understand why he wants out. Imagine your boss told you he was going to get you som help and didn't then kept saying we will do this and that to help you get further and still did nothing. I know I would tell them too that I want out. I don't blame Kobe for Shaq leaving, because Shaq hasn't played a full season in over 6yrs. People don't get so pushed out of shape. this man just want's to play and win or at least feel like everyone is on the say page. GIVE HIM A BRAKE!!!!!!!!

... Well, it seems as though the Lakers and Kobe Bryant may be parting ways. Bryant told Stephen A. Smith that he wants out of L.A. He’s also finally answering allegations that he forced Shaq out of town. Basically, Kobe is blaming Jerry Bus, who thought Shaq was too old to warrant an $80M deal, and decided to trade him while he could get good value for him.
Kobe Bryant Demands Trade
Published 5/30/2007 by Marcel Mutoni at FanHouse
... This morning, Kobe Bryant dropped the biggest bombshell of the season by asking to be traded from the Los Angeles Lakers. In an interview on Stephen A. Smith's radio show, Kobe said that he wants out of LA and there's nothing the Lakers can do to change his mind. "I would like to be traded, yeah," Bryant said on 1050 ESPN Radio in New York. "Tough as it is to come to that conclusion there's no other alternative, you know?" Bryant, interviewed by Stephen A. Smith, was asked if there was anything the Lakers could do to change his mind? "No," Bryant said. "I just want them to do the right thing." Yesterday, we told you about Kobe

And no matter what he says, he had to have had a hand in trading Shaq. Look who the Lakers got for him. Are you telling me that the Lakers did that on their own accord? The Lakers are saying Kobe wanted them to trade Shaq. Kobe is saying the Lakers did it on their own. I think it's a little bit of both.

But back to the topic at hand — from the Lottery being televised, and now to Kobe’s demand for a trade, which is now a demand rather than pussyfooting around the idea — this story has grown out of control so quickly that it’s really tough to track where it’s going. I have a hard time thinking about where this could go.

... So the big news is that Kobe Bryant, scourge of Blazer fans the world over, would like to be traded . In my opinion, Kobe is the best player in the game. When he's on, he is truely unstoppable. And even when he's off, he's still most likley the best player on the court. All of this, of course, is up for debate. And it's debate that this post is going to focus on. Will Cleveland Trade Keep LeBron Around?
Published 2/26/2008 by Tim at Mind Rite Sports -- Quality, diverse sports coverage
Some NBA superstars demand trades when they feel like their team is inadequate. Some stay with their team against their will but phone in games . Others, who often get compared to larger-than-life deities , simply step up and proceed to carry their team to the NBA Finals. For the superstars who prove they can single-handedly take their team to the “promise land,” teams find it in their best interest to go out of their way to stockpile as much talent as possible. In Cleveland, general manager Danny Ferry has but one goal, and one goal only : keep ...
