  You make a good case, I can buy this. I'm no Kobe lover, but I have him as my MVP at the moment -- just barely over LeBron. But the term "important" does seem more relevant than "valuable" in a lot of ways.

  Good article but we are playing semantics here.       The more valuable you are, the more important you are.    The more important you are, the more valuable you are.       It is KG and Kobe's race--have to give it to Kobe.    Much tougher in the West.
