And they would too - if they were totally ignorant of the way his name's pronounced ('Foo-koo-DOH-may').

A Hundred Next Years — This is it. The announcement that Kosuke Fukudome will absolutely, positively, for sure-no-kidding be playing in the Major Leagues in 2008; one giant step closer to the BIG announcement, when Fukudome devastates all of Cubdom by signing with someone other than the Cubs.

Based on federal guidelines for good behavior, Vick’s sentence could end as early as the summer of 2009, meaning he may be able to play that season. YankeesRedSox.com — ... If the Red Sox do trade Ellsbury, perhaps they will still deal Coco Crisp and focus on Japanese League star Kosuke Fukudome who today declared his ententions of playing in the Majors in 2008. Some say Fukudome isn't an ideal fit in CF, but his bat projects to be superior to Crisp's. A long shot though as Fukudome is expected to get at least $10mm a season based on what I've read. ...

Fuk-U-Do-Me? No, Fukudome. Or just Kosuke.
Home Run DerbyKosuke Fukudome is coming to America.  He’s coming to Chicago .  He’s coming to Wrigley Field .  The Cubs outbid the Padres and White Sox for Fukudome. I can’t wait for 2,000 drunken Trixies in the Wrigley Bleachers to mispronounce “Fukudome” 30 times a game.   As we said once before … it’s pronounced Foo-Koo-Doh-May.  Not Fuk-U-Do-Me. But if you’re hoping to get a Cub jersey for Christmas with an easily mispronounced sexual innuendo on the back … I think you’re going to be disappointed. Because Fukudome’s jersey is probably going to look like this … ...

The Rangers introduced Japanese pitcher Kazuo Fukumori on Friday, doing the usual jersey-and-cap thing both in the home clubhouse and in the dugout. But check this out: Red T on the lid — and an old 5950 to boot. Presumably a few minutes later, Fukumori headed down the tunnel to the dugout . And now the T is white. What the Fuk?
