Yeah I thought I was quick in getting to it, I was typing up my post about as I saw it come on ESPN, but that apparently was a good half hour after you guys. The last I checked it still wasn't on the Utah Jazz's website.

Didn't the 76ers make some completely inconsequential deal with the Jazz last year? Something involving Alan Henderson?

Best of luck to Gordan... he was unfairly blamed for a lot of things by Jerry.

But I'm excited to see Korver in Utah... hopefully he'll be the 3-point threat the Jazz have been lacking.

I agree UtesFan, this dispute seemed more the result of a lost temper by Jerry Sloan. The Jazz were in the middle of their big losing streak when this happened, and I think that had an effect.

You're a pretty anti-Sloan Jazz fan, I believe. I think that Sloan plays a very large part in our team's success, but I've got to agree with you that Giricek was unfairly treated.

I am excited to see Korver come to Utah as well. I think a lot of Jazz fans have been wanting him for a while. However, I think the Jazz need a physical post player more than a shooter. I've excited to see Korver, but I think that Collins is a bigger waste than Giricek.

By the way, go BYU! Fourth and 18!

Yep, anti-Sloan here. For all the part he plays in the teams success (if any), his style and his coaching is keeping the team from winning it all. He has his pre-determined biases (Ostertag and Giricek before, Collins and Harpring now); he either underplays or overplays all the starters; and seems to have as much confidence in the bench as I do in him as a leader for the team.

Agree on Collins too. But seriously, what're you going to get for him? A basketball?

As for the post... a good post defender would be nice. Booze and Okur don't defend. All Flop does is... well, flop.  Fesenko is the best one the Jazz have... and Sloan isn't going to play him no matter what.

Kyle Korver will flourish on this team, and the Jazz just got its three-point threat in the "Sniper". Best of luck to KK in Utah. He will be sorely missed here in Philly....

This move is exactly what the Jazz need to help them finally beat the Warriors.

Sixers trade Korver so they can release humorous photo
Published 12/29/2007 by The Sports Hernia at The Sports Hernia Blog
Despite several media outlets reporting the Philadelphia 76ers made their recent trade "just for the fuck of it," our Philly insider claims the true intent behind the deal was simply a shameful excuse to share this glorious photograph with the rest of the world. While trading a nondescript white dude for a foreign nondescript white dude definitely sounds like a "just for the fuck of it" kind of deal, it's hard to argue that they weren't absolutely dying for this photograph to get some run. The image alone warrants a lifetime membership to the Walton family teepee.

Damn You, Kyle Korver
The Utah Jazz and Jerry Sloan are going to be very happy they traded for Kyle Korver. Tonight's game is a perfect example of what they can expect from him. Instant offense off the bench, automatic from the free throw line, deadly from downtown and an immense liability on defense. Korver was every bit of those four things tonight, and it was his free throw shooting down the stretch that ...
Korver Traded - Sixers Web Site Unaware
Dude, We Were Traded In ground breaking, earth shaking NBA news, the Philadelphia 76ers traded Ashton Kutcher look a like Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz for Gordan Giricek. While this is an obvious move by Utah to bring yet another American born white guy to Utah (foreigners don't count in that state apparently) someone might want to tell the Sixers it's time ...
Jerry Sloan Mad at Gordan Giricek; Kyle Korver Punished
In the buildup to Pats-Giants, I completely missed the news that Kyle Korver was traded to the Utah Jazz for Gordan Giricek, Jerry Sloan's latest whipping boy. Giricek was the one that acted up yet Kyle is the one being banished to Utah. I guess the strategy of trading away the team's most popular players didn't end with Billy King. Poor Philly. Poor Kyle.
Korver traded to Utah
**VOTE IGUODALA FOR ALL-STAR** The Sixers traded Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz today in exchange for Gordon Giricek and a first round draft pick. Jazz trade Giricek, 1st rounder for Kyle Korver
Just a day after the Utah Jazz reinstated Gordon Giricek for an argument with coach Jerry Sloan, the team traded the Croatian shooting guard to the Philadelphia Sixers for Kyle Korver . The three came to the conclusion that Giricek should be ...
Giricek Traded To 76ers For Korver

Who Wins Utah-Philadelphia Trade: Jazz Deal Gordon Giricek To 76ers For Kyle Korver?
On Friday they supposedly broke the bread of peace. On Saturday they went their separate ways. Such is the NBA life. Yesterday Gordon Giricek and coach Jerry Sloan forged a tenuous truce allowing the disgruntled guard to return to the Utah Jazz after a three game suspension. Today Utah traded Giricek and a first round draft pick to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Kyle Korver ...
The Middling Exception
When Kyle Korver was traded for Gordon Giricek's expiring contract and a future first rounder last week, it was viewed by many as being a fair trade for both sides. Utah got the long range shooter they were seeking, and Philly got more cap space plus an added goody in the form of the future pick. Personally, however, I saw this as the Sixers fleecing the Jazz. In years past getting a guy ...
Set to Enter Free Agency as Buyers, Should Sixers Also Focus on Facilities?
I was happy to hear that things are going well for Kyle Korver in Utah. He's a good guy, and it's rarely easy to quickly adjust after being traded. One thing he said to his new local press was a little concerning, however. From the Deseret Morning Times: Now he's pumped to have a nice practice facility like the Zions Bank Basketball Center. "The place in Philly was horrible. I could ...
