Kyle Lohse Ready To Settle? Links3
ESPN's Buster Olney says Kyle Lohse is currently looking for a one-year deal between $4-10MM.  According to Olney, multiple teams have expressed their disinterest in the Boras-represented Lohse.  Lohse at $5MM seems really solid - how is this guy out of work on March 3rd?  He's even young enough to have upside, which can't be said for Livan Hernandez . Pineiro Problems
Published 3/11/2008 by Kujo at Rockin' the Red
... I'd say it's time to start exploring outside options for the rotation, as Clement, Mulder, and Pineiro could possibly be out at the beginning of the season. Wellemeyer, Thompson, and Parisi would be the leading in-house candidates, but if Kyle Lohse only wants a one-year deal, why not go for it? I'd take Lohse over Weaver at this point any day, even if it meant paying a few million more. ...

Phillies Not Interested In Lohse

Time For Lohse?
Most will agree Kyle Lohse was not worth the four-year, multimillion-dollar contract he was seeking over the winter. In fact, he wasn’t worth a three-year, nor two-year deal, either. But how about a one-year deal? For somewhere between $4-10M, which is reportedly what he’s seeking at this juncture? I like what I’ve seen of Mike Pelfrey so far this spring, but he wows us ...

Kyle Lohse Still Can't Find a Hug
Late last month, (Fake) Kyle Lohse took to these pages to plead for a little affection from the 30 teams that make up Major League Baseball. Sure, his initial request for five years at $10 million per were delusional, but he seems like a nice enough guy and, let's face it, league average pitchers don't exactly grow on trees. Surely, as teams saw what they had in Spring Training there would ...

Mets still thinking about Lohse
The Star Ledger today reported that the Mets are still considering signing free agent Kyle Lohse. Since there isn't strong demand for Lohse the team is taking it's time assessing the pitchers it already has. If El Duque can't pitch and Pelfrey starts to struggle as he did at the end of spring training I could see signing him. It seems like names that won't go away seem to end up here in the ...

One Moore Time
Kyle Lohse is not this bad of a pitcher. This is not to say that Lohse is anything other than an average pitcher. In fact, Lohse epitomizes what it means to be average. In his five full seasons as a starting pitcher, his OPS(plus) has been 105, 98, 89, 106, and 100 (with 100 being the league average). What Lohse lacks in production and talent however, he makes up with consistency. He has ...
