    He was one of the biggest supporters of pro soccer in the USA.  He successfully sued the NFL (when an AFL owner) over dual ownership (of an NASL team which he owned), and was the original owner of two MLS teams.  He built the first MLS soccer-specific stadium (for Columbus Crew), which opened in '99.  His family carries on his work, but he is missed...

    and now it looks like one of his MLS teams (KC) gets their stadium plan approved, along with a new Arrowhead soon.

    Welcome to the soccer-specific stadium-world KC.

    Lamar wanted it that way, and he would approve.
