The Patriots are hosting free-agent RB LaMont Jordan on a visit at Gillette Stadium today. The 5-foot-10, 230-pound Jordan was released by the Raiders on Friday . Jordan, 29, has suited up for the Jets (2001-2004) and Raiders (2005-2007). He did not start with the Jets, but was elevated to that role in Oakland. One day after being released by the Raiders, Mike Reiss from the Boston Globe is reporting that the Patriots are hosting RB LaMont Jordan for a free agent visit. JOrdan played 4 seasons with the Jets and spent the last 3 in Oakland, where he was a starter. In 2005, his first as a starter, he ran for 1,025 yards and scored 9 rushing touchdowns. Since then, injuries and the improved play of Justin Fargas have slowed down LaMont, leading to his release. With six running backs already on the roster, I would suspect that Jordan was brought in on just an evaluation ...
