Pats bring in Jordan

One day after being released by the Raiders, Mike Reiss from the Boston Globe is reporting that the Patriots are hosting RB LaMont Jordan for a free agent visit. JOrdan played 4 seasons with the Jets and spent the last 3 in Oakland, where he was a starter. In 2005, his first as a starter, he ran for 1,025 yards and scored 9 rushing touchdowns. Since then, injuries and the improved play of Justin Fargas have slowed down LaMont, leading to his release.
With six running backs already on the roster, I would suspect that Jordan was brought in on just an evaluation ...

NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Patriots have signed free-agent running back Lamont Jordan. Jordan was released by the Raiders yesterday; he had spent the prior three years with Oakland, but as the team drafted Darren McFadden, Jordan became expendable.
