Lance Briggs, Certifiably Insane, Is Unhappy With the Contract He Signed Last Month
Lance Briggs is, simply, bonkers. This is too absurd not to be true, I think. Last month, Briggs re-signed with the Bears for presumably a lot less than he could've made last off-season had he avoided that whole messy holdout situation. He would end up signing his franchise tender and all that eventually got him was a six-year, $36 million contract that includes $12 million in guaranteed ... [link]

Briggs has only given it two months, and in that two months, he's done nothing for the Bears except not work out. It takes some pair of coconuts to believe you've outperformed the deal you signed two months ago, particularly when you haven't performed anything at all over those two months. You have got some brass, Lance Briggs. Gracias, Ryan Wilson @ the FanHouse.

... While we’re on the subject, I have a feeling the Bears might be terrible next season, regardless of what happens on Saturday. As I said earlier, they need to pay Urlacher. A team can’t be good if it’s best player is pissed at management. But this Briggs stuff now is just insane. Complaining about a contract you signed six weeks ago….I don’t even know what to say. Lance Briggs is an idiot and even though he got a six-year deal, he won’t last that long in Chicago. The Bears can void the deal after two years, and that’s what’s going to happen. I thought resigning Briggs was ...

Future disgruntled NFL wide receivers — the Rosenhaus connection

There's more than meets the eye in efforts by NFL wide receivers to be traded out of unwanted contracts. There is the guiding hand of Drew Rosenhaus. After perfecting the technique with Terrell Owens against the Eagles, Rosenhaus clients Javon Walker and Chad Johnson seem to be following the same formula to get out of Dodge.
