Wow, what a crazy night at the Fieldhouse! I was really amped when talented combo guard, Jerryd Bayless fell to the Pacers' pick at 11. The fans gathered at the arena shared my excitement. After catching our collective breath, the Raptors selected ...Jerryd Bayless Has Haters

In the post below this one, I wrote that the one trait that all 8 high school players featured in the new movie "Gunnin' For That #1 Spot" shared was a more than healthy desire to be the best. Certainly this is true for the newest Trail Blazer (one of the 8 players featured in the movie), Jerryd Bayless. With that kind of drive and resulting success, apparently, comes a jug ..What the Blazers came up with

Don't want to step on SJ's killer diary below, so I'll keep this brief and simple. This is what the Blazers did in the 2008 Draft, and it looks good. We'll have thoughts tomorrow. Received: Jerryd Bayless Ike Diogu Nicolas Batum '09 2nd Rounder from the Clippers Three future 2nd Rounders from the Bulls Lost: Jarret Jack Josh McRoberts Brandon Rush Picks Traded: Brandon ...Draft: First Round is Final

Three hours into the Draft and we finally have our thirty First Round picks. Things went smoothly at the top, outside of Charlotte's surprise pick of DJ Augustin. In the middle, Jerryd Bayless wen't to the Pacers.. however it appears that pick is going to the Portland Trailblazers. This is a steal for Portland, who also snagged Darrell Arthur late in the round. Arthur, the last remaining ...More draft-related fun activities to waste time with

If the 2008 NBA Draft confirmed anything to me, it would be that the whole thing would be a lot more boring for everybody if Kevin Pritchard wasn't involved. Here is my 3rd grade reading level obligatory recap: Players the Blazers ended up with: Jarryd Bayless , Ike Diogu , and Nicolas Batum . I have been in like with all these players. Don't sleep on Diogu , he is a good banger style ...Another Wolves Bunglectomy?

In the draft last night, I was hoping the Wolves would take after the Portland Trailblazers, and at least make some moves. Didn't see much to get excited about -- the expected Mayo pick, the Center I had never heard of who's playing in Greece for a few more years, and Mario Chalmers, who was traded to Miami for those dreaded words I remember from the Foye-Roy trade -- "Cash Considerations." ...Draft Stunners

Admittedly, I know very little about Jason Thompson from Rider, the Sacramento Kings 1st Round pick. However, I did see him play in one game in his conference tournament and was underwhelmed. I hoped D.J. Augustin would fall to the Kings. My second choice, based on who I thought would be available, was Kansas Darrell Arthur. I never even considered that the Kings would take Thompson. There were three deals that happened. One is of hyper intrigue. One is of moderate intrigue. One probably doesn't matter much. Guess where we're starting? The Portland Trailblazers trade PG/SG Mike Taylor to the Los Angeles Clippers for a the #2 in 2009. A stealth savvy move for Portland. Mike Taylor's likely going to grow up into a less intriguing Jannero Pargo. The Clippers are likely ...In KP We Trust - Blazers 2008 Draft Round Up

Well folks, despite the lack of posts around here I’ve been eagerly looking forward to tonight’s draft for the past month and, after all kinds of crazy rumors and a stream of player workouts in Portland, wonder-kid Portland GM Kevin Pritchard hasn’t disappointed. In fact, I think KP, after two franchise-altering drafts in ‘06 and ‘07, has taken some low-key ...Blazers final pick is ....

A hodgpodge of thoughts following one of the best sports night of the year - NBA Draft night. Best value picks : - Jerryd Bayless (11) - Had top 5 talent, but slides to 11, and will join an already talented cast of Portland Trailblazers. He can eventually be paired with Brandon Roy in the backcourt... neither guy is probably a natural PG, but both are good enough ballhandlers and passers to ...WIth No. 27 the Blazers select ...

ESPN is reporting that Indiana picked Jerryd Bayless at #11 not for themselves, but for the active active Blazers. Chad Ford says the trade is Bayless and Ike Diogu in exchange for Brandon Rush , picked 13th, and Jarrett Jack . Of course, it's a coup for Portland's Kevin Pritchard , who came into the draft needing a point guard and ended up with arguably the second best one available. And ...Podcasting Across the Universe

The pre-draft version of the Trailblazers.com podcast is up right here . We go through some of the rumors, some discussion of Devin Harris and T.J.
