Our Crazed Sensei Still off the Rocker
STLSportsMag — ... r in 10 games.  Oh well, at least the $20 I made paid for dinner and some drinks. (note: the picture to the right has nothing to do with this post). It turns out the Birds' game wasn't too eventful.  The only reason to go at this point is to see Albert Pujols try and reach 100 RBI and Albert didn't make the starting lineup last night.  But these guys most certainly did: So Taguchi Brendan Ryan Miguel Cairo Scott Spiezio Rick Ankiel Yadier Molina Skip Schumaker Todd Wellemeyer Brian Barden Shockingly, it wasn't get away day at Busch and it wasn't a split squad game in Jupiter: this was the real deal.  Tough to get excited for that lineup. To make things more blurry, our crazed sensei Tony LaRussa benched Brendan Ryan after the first inning, the result of Ryan swinging on 3-0 and proceeding to fly out.  The crazed sensei also is making headlines in Seattle.  Seattle Times baseball reporter Larry Stone says a LaRussa/Jocketty package in the northwest makes sense and is ...

Jocketty and LaRussa
U.S.S. Mariner — ... As with all of Stone’s articles, it’s worth reading, even though the only connection to the story right now is Olney’s public assertions and some long running rumors about the future of the Cardinals franchise. ...

Are Walt Jocketty and Tony La Russa a Package Deal?
FanHouse — ... might abandon the Gateway City for greener pastures. If they do, a lot of people think they'll do it in tandem. They obviously enjoy working together (they've had their "woe is me!" act in sync all season long), and they each have a track record that would automatically qualify them as favorites for any vacant job they want. From Larry Stone in the Seattle Times explores the possibility of the duo landing in Seattle: ...

LaRussa, Jocketty a package deal for Reds, Mariners?
MLB - Sports Rumors - Yahoo! Sports — ... . LaRussa and Jocketty have a good relationship with the Reds' new CEO, Robert Castellini, a former Cardinals investor.
