We all know about ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit's reporting gaffe on Saturday that said LSU head coach Les Miles was headed to Michigan as the next head coach of college football's winningest program. But how much of it was Herby and how much was ESPN producers forcing him to 'report' this in the name of being first, not accurary? Herby talked to a Detroit radio station....

ESPN and ABC analyst Kirk Herbstreit talked with WDFN-AM Monday about his erroneous report. Herbstreit reported Saturday morning, citing an anonymous source, that coach Les Miles was taking the job at Michigan. Miles agreed to stay with LSU on Saturday.

LSU, meanwhile, was pushing hard behind the scenes to keep Miles, offering a multi-year contract extension that would boost his pay by millions.
