Sox, Lowell Survive the Rain

The Red Sox continued to their winning ways against the Yankees and took game two of this four-game weekend series in the Bronx, winning 6-4. Mike Lowell and Kevin Youkilis provided the offense today with a home run and a strange triple. Josh Beckett also pitched a decent game for his eighth win of the season. In the third inning, Youkilis hit a two-run triple.

Sox Can’t Come Back in 9th; Yankees Win 2-1

Today’s game was a classic pitchers’ duel that saw Red Sox pitcher Justin Masterson at the wrong end. Despite giving up only two runs, Masterson pitched another good game, but Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina pitched a better one. Masterson pitched 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.
