Fourteen games are on tap for Opening Day 2008. Sure, the Red Sox and A’s played some games in Japan , but nobody on this side of the pond watched, and the Nationals opened their new ballpark in the made-for-ESPN Sunday night game, but today is when the season really begins. Ordinarily in this space I would tell you which games are most worth watching, but on Opening Day,

I've been alternately packing up my entire house in Chicago, a bridesmaid in a wedding in Kansas City, and on a cross-country trek to Boston, so I haven't been able to catch much of the action - but the box scores have spoken volumes. I just don't see this team winning more than 75 ballgames this season. I don't even think they'll finish

We're already knee-deep in the season. The Red Sox magic number is 162 (it's never too early to start counting)- and Jon Lester will try and lower that down to 161 against Rich Harden and the A's.

knucklecurve.com 4/1/2008 — No, I didn’t get up at 3 a.m. to watch Opening Day in Japan. Maybe if the Padres had been playing, but the Red Sox? Meh. (As an aside, is anyone else sick of the word “meh” to show indifference? I’ve used it here to sound hipper than I actually am, but I kinda hate it. I’m ready for the fad to pass.)
