LOS ANGELES -- Brad Lidge played catch in the outfield at Dodger Stadium and proclaimed himself ready for closing duties. Two days of being unavailable due to right shoulder tendinitis was enough for Lidge. "I felt good," Lidge said. "It's up to them. If they don't call down, they don't call down, but I'm ready." From MLB.com: "Manager Charlie Manuel maintains that Lidge's tendinitis began in the All-Star Game, when he was warmed up six times before pitching the 15th inning. "Put it this way," Lidge said. "Before the All-Star Game, it was feeling like I had a tiny bit of tendinitis. If I would've just thrown regular at the All-Star Game, like a normal up-and-in inning, it probably would have gone away, because I had the other three days off over the break. Billy Wagner went on the disabled list, retroactive to August 3, and since then, the Mets’ bullpen has had a well-documented, topsy-turvey ride. While he was never officially placed on the disabled list, Brad Lidge hasn’t seen action since August 8, thus causing the Phillies’ pen to spin a bit out of control.
