I read this
column this morning, written by a woman whose husband was distraught over
the retirement of Brett Favre, I couldn't tell if it was real or a parody. I
think I've settled on real.
Reading it felt a little like watching Best
in Show, a Christopher Guest mockumentary that looks real, but
is, in actuality, actors poking a little fun at the culture depicted; in that
case, dog show people. Here, I couldn't tell if it was really a story about a
"Oh no, Brett Favre has retired, and my life will never by the same ...

This is a great piece of writing I was send by Zach and I think you should all check it out. As Packer fans and Favre fans, we all felt this way after learning of his retirement. Heck, I went into a four-day mourning period where I wore only my Favre jersey after school (private school dress code prevented it being worn during the day). The jersey is in my closet, waiting for Week 1 vs. Minnesota to come out again. I was pretty much in the dumps. However, I do not think I felt as down as this dude .
