The Red Wings spent Monday evening steadfastly trying to come to terms with their No. 4 on defense, Brad Stuart. They reached a two-year extension with defenseman Andreas Lilja during the afternoon, avoiding his becoming an unrestricted free agent when the market opens at noon today.
