Linebackers lead the way heading into 2008 - College Football Links6
With the 2008 NFL draft now behind us, it's never too soon to look at the top seniors in the class of 2008. My Top 25 Big Board won't be complete until August, but the top 10 is set, highlighted by three linebackers in the top five. 1. James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State (6-2½, 242) If he had declared for the 2008 NFL draft, Laurinaitis most likely would have been a top-10 pick. In addition to ... [link]

Curtis Painter Is the New Matt Ryan
Published 5/5/2008 by Brian Cook at FanHouse
Filed under: Purdue Football, NFL ProspectsCurtis Painter: coming to an incredibly disappointed NFL city near you. College football fans outside of Boston were by in large puzzled by the NFL's lofty opinion of 61st-rated passer Matt Ryan, the third pick in the NFL draft. Why Ryan went so high will be a mystery until such time as he proves himself Not Rick Mirer or Not Joey Harrington, but at least Ryan's team played pretty well and, you know, beat some teams that weren't repugnant. The same cannot be said for Mel Kiper's top-rated senior quarterback for the 2009 NFL draft, Missouri's Chase Dan-- wait... what? CURTIS ...

Nitt Picks Works Weekends Too

... Remember last year Kiper had Dan Connor listed as the best linebacker in the draft and a sure fire top ten pick? Then he sat around on draft day and didn't go until the third round on day two. If that doesn't make you scratch your head about Mel Kiper, take into consideration that James Laurinaitus tops his big board for 2009. ...

Training Camp Preview, kinda (defense)

... S: After Oshiomogho Atogwe, this group is a little thin on talent.  Corey Chavous brings experience to the SS position.  Eric Bassey, Tood Johnson, Jerome Carter, and Sebastien Sejean will battle for time in camp.  With the LB's, this is prime drafting potential next summer.  (Mel Kiper has 3 LB's in his top 10 here.  I know, it's ridiculous to keep tabs on next year's draft during training camp, but if Kiper can do it, so can I) ...

Purdue 2008: Tiller On A Treadmill
Published 29 days ago by Brian at mgoblog
The Story If you had told Joe Tiller in 1997 that he would be shuffling off this Big Ten coil before the conference's other patriarch named Joe, he probably would have been surprised. "You traveled back in time to tell me that?" he'd ask. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you have family members to warn or large New York buildings to save or something?" And then I'd ask "wait just a second, how do you know about the World Trade Center?" and he would go "uhhhhhh..." and I'd rip his face off, Mission Impossible style, and be confronted with the horrible truth: So, yeah. Joe Tiller isn't going to coach football anymore and it's ...
