The Rocket Fuel Hearings
Published 2/13/2008 by davidbloom at BaseballHappenings.com
Today is the day where Roger Clemens sure wishes it was 1986 again. Back in the day, his focus was just on what his baseball career would evolve to. Instead, today he is in a suit with his baseball legacy, and his credibility on the line. Moreover, he could end up in jail if it is found he is not telling the truth to the United States Government. It does seem like Roger ...
Bullet Points: Roster Moves, Book Club, Today’s Congressional Hearings
Published 2/13/2008 by Cory Humes at Seamless Baseball
Derek dropped me a line saying that he’d be a bit slow to the trigger today with the final catcher rankings, so I’m taking a stroll out to the mound to buy the closer a little more time in the bullpen.

Roster moves:
Livan Hernandez to the Twins. After losing about 400 innings’ worth of Johan Santana and Carlos Silva, I suppose adding a veteran for stability wasn’t an awful idea. Hernandez shouldn’t be more than a streaming option in most fantasy leagues, though, in my estimation.
Is Kris Benson about to sign with the Phillies?
Kevin Mench inks with the Rangers, and could ...

From Newsday: Roger Clemens' former trainer, Brian McNamee, is prepared to tell a congressional hearing Wednesday that he has a "vivid recollection" of the pitcher describing a scene at a party in Miami in 1998 that McNamee says he and Clemens attended. Clemens, however, has denied being at the party. The sources say McNamee's recollection involves Clemens' wife, Debbie, and Jessica Canseco, ...Pettitte Asks to be Excused From Hearing

By denying and totally refuting anything that Brian McNamee has said, Roger Clemens is challenging the very foundation of the Mitchell Report. McNamee provided a lot of information that became public from the Mitchell Report, including testimony about Roger Clemens, Chuck Knoblauch, and Andy Pettitte. If McNamee is lying then the Mitchell Report loses a lot of credibility.Coverage of the Clemens hearing

Twice this month Roger Clemens has provided testimony under oath regarding the statements made by his former trainer Brian McNamee to the people who created the Mitchell Report.
