Los Angeles Times: What's Bruin : Rich Perelman on the world of UCLA sports Links2
I didn't mean to start with quite so many videos, but I saw this episode recently and have been raving about this new style of programming. FSN's Sport Science is less than a year old and it's a breath of fresh air in sports TV. In this episode, they see if UCLA alumnus Jason Kapono (with Jordan Farmar on the assist) can beat the NBA's Trent Tucker Rule. Enacted in 1990, the rule basically ... [link]

Jason Kapono Pulls A Chuck Woolery
Published 4/11/2008 by Tas Melas at The Basketball Jones
... I pulled a Bill Simmons in posting this. I felt like getting Raptor fans all riled up that Jason Kapono can get a shot off (a made one!) in .22, while T.J. Ford can’t get a tip in .5. YouTube of the Day: Jason Kapono 'defeats' science!
Published 4/11/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
... Impressive. But the LA Times is right: until someone beats .2 seconds, there is no real need to change the rulebook. Then again, is there any harm in changing the clock to measure in hundredths of a second instead of tenths? I don't think so. Make it happen, Stern. ...

Back for Seconds, Thirds and Fourths

Some things don’t happen very often. Total eclipses, Haley’s comet, a Knicks win. So that’s why when something extraordinary happens, you have to take notice. Tonight, the Raptors stepped up and played a solid game, playing like a team that just wanted it more than the other team they were playing. But that’s not the part that was so abnormal. No, that came as the Raptors got their asses ...

YouTube of the Day: Jason Kapono 'defeats' science!

NBA science tells us there must be at least 0.3 seconds left on the game clock for a team to successfully get off a jump shot. (Yes, the Trent Tucker rule .) If there's less time on the clock, you can only score on a tip or alley-oop. (Unless, of ...
