So I guess the only thing you know how to do is go through Red Sox stories and badmouth them & vote them down?

I mean, I've got Chase Utley on my fantasy team like everyone else, but give it a break.

I did not vote down this story . . . . . .  (Hyped Up).  Just because I do not care for Manny Ramirez does not mean that I do not like the Red Sox.  I respect Manny as a player, but his on field show boating is not anything that I care for.

No, I was assuming you did not like the Red Sox because you've gone through every story about them in the last 24 hours and badmouthed them.  And if it's Manny's on-field showboating you don't care for (non-existent, by the way), why continually harp on his small off-the-field issues?

That's probably because the last 24 hrs worth of stories were associated with Manny . . . .  Now if they were talking about Schilling I would have positive things to say.  Listen, I know it is not easy being in 1st place anymore, but Tampa should have a shot at the title too.  Redsauce - you are waaaay too negative man.  Lighten up it's only a sport and hopefully not your life.  There's always tomorrow . . . .

Turns out the Astros put the kibosh on it because they didn't want an opposing player on the field for pre-game ceremonies. A compromise was made and Aardsma stood next to his dad as he threw out the first pitch. Thoughts on the Manny/McCormick Issue
The House That Dewey Built — Unless you’ve been holed up in a secret cave near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, you’ve undoubtedly heard about Manny Ramirez shoving Red Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick to the ground in a spat over an unreasonable ticket request. Here’s the story from Sean McAdam. My take on the situation: First and foremost, Manny was being childish. Making a demand and then throwing a tantrum when the demand is deemed unreasonable is the act of a child.  But, we all knew about these tendencies from day one, right?  Sometimes the ...

Catwalk
Empyreal Environs — ... Highlights: Perhaps a bit of bad karma followed the Red Sox from the clubhouse to the field yesterday. Manny Ramirez uncharacteristically blew up at traveling secretary Jack McCormick Saturday afternoon in a row about tickets. McCormick was shoved to the ground as a result of the altercation over Ramirez’s request for 16 tickets for a game that evening. If Ramirez were a lesser player or McCormick a higher official, a closed-door apology probably wouldn’t cut the mustard. Just ask Shawn Chacon. ...

Red Sox fans tiring of Manny's act?
Projo Sox Blog — ... It's been a very active month, to say the least, for Manny Ramirez. It all started with Ramirez shoving traveling secretary Jack McCormick, a story that (along with an altercation earlier this season with Kevin Youkilis) belied Ramirez's laid-back reputation. Then came Ramirez's pinch-hitting appearance Sunday night, July 6, in the Bronx, when he looked at three called strikes against Mariano Rivera. Next, it was a back-and-forth in the Boston media, where Ramirez called on the organization for clarity about whether the Red Sox planned to pick up Manny's option for next season, ...

Manny being Manny all the way out of Beantown
Opposite Field — ... . What instigated this incident? Apparently, Manny felt annoyed about Youk’s constant complaining about the strike-zone and his penchant to take his anger out in the dugout when an at-bat didn’t go his way. So here we have Manny being vocal, giving his teammate some tough love to be more mature. Then the ugly side of Manny popped up later that month, when Ramirez knocked over Red Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick after he couldn’t fulfill his gameday request for 16 tickets at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Out of character, even for Manny. What really instigated the ...

Manny named No. 12 on 'Top 50 Sports Jerks of All Time' list
Red Sox Monster — It was undoubtedly a long weekend for Manny Ramirez and the Red Sox. Feelings were hurt. Names were called. Posturing was flaunted. Add that to a season that already includes Manny knocking over a 60-plus traveling secretary , and it's understandable that some people might want to call him a jerk. There are limits to what is rationale, though, and CBS has officially jumped the shark there. In one of those columns only published to make waves, columnist Mike Freeman is back with ...

Ban Baseball — ... In June 2008 Manny hit Kevin Youkilis in the dugout during a game after Ramirez decided he did not like the way Youkilis strikes out. As reported by the Providence Journal when McCormick cautioned Ramirez that he might not be able to fulfill his request, Ramirez responded by shouting: "Just do your job!" An argument ensued and Ramirez pushed McCormick, sending him to the ground. ...
