Manny Ramirez: "Gas is up and so am I!"
yoonewverse —
After being eliminated and acting like he didn't realize the team was eliminated, Manny said "he loved the trade, but wants to get paid." Manny thinks Gas is too high Well, I never knew the economy was that bad in Manny's part of town. Gas prices must be killing his Black card. Oh...I read the Bill Simmons article, I know why Manny can't pay for gas - its because he always leaves his 800,000 paychecks in his locker without cashing them. I'm starting to wonder who "Middle Class Manny" is voting for? Manny/Papi 2012 ...

... T.J. Simers hackismo. If you didn't know, T.J. Simers is a pathetic excuse for a writer at the L.A. Times (which is really saying something, they also employ Bill Plaschke), who has taken to bashing the hell out of Philly, declaring, amongst other things, that the pissed off fan base doesn't deserve a winner. Subsequently, he's been subjected to numerous blogging banter that is frankly living up the the Angryville name Simers provided. This fraud of a writer now experienced some real fanship. The Dodgers got whupped 4-1 in a series and Philly fans ...
The Manny Ramirez situation isn't that complicated... at least not from Manny's POV
SULLY BASEBALL —
... lots of fans are wringing their hands over which big star will go where etc. I've already heard people wondering about Manny Ramirez... Does he want to go back to LA because fans loved him there? Does he want to go to the Yankees because he wants to get back at the Red Sox? Does he want to go to Philadelphia to be reunited with Charlie Manuel? Why are people doing that? Manny made it very simple for all of us. He said as he left LA following the NLCS "I want to see who is the highest bidder. Gas is up and so am I." Actually gas is coming ...
Poor Manny, Nobody Wants to Sign Him :(

... It wasn’t long ago that Manny dropped one of the best lines by an athlete in recent memory. In October of last year, while Manny was crushing NL pitching, my stock portfolio was riding high, and gas was $4 a gallon, Manny proclaimed, “I want to see who is the highest bidder. Gas is up and so am I.” Unfortunately for Manny, the declaration of a national recession has curbed spending and free agents have settled for ...
