The high energy version of Manu Ginobili finally showed up in the Western Conference Finals--and not a moment too soon for the San Antonio Spurs, who are still very much alive after his 30 points in 31 minutes propelled them to a 103-84 victory over the L.A. Lakers, L.A.'s worst loss of the 2008 playoffs. (link)

Lakers-Spurs Game 3 Live Blog
That picture reminds me of the Manu Ginobili we saw all season long. You know, splitting double teams, attacking, making things happen. Unfortunately that version of Manu has yet to be seen in the Conference Finals. Through the first two games, he has a total of 17 points on just 5-21 shooting. This is as much of a must-win for San Antonio as Game 7 in New Orleans was, because we all know ...
5 Things to Watch For: Lakers-Spurs, Western Conference Finals, Game 3

Spurs Almost Kept Manu in Street Clothes
Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News reports the Spurs coaching staff considered holding injured Manu Ginobili out of Friday's game in L.A. Behind closed doors inside Staples Center in the hours before Game 2 of the NBA's Western Conference finals, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich huddled with his assistants and kicked around a nearly unthinkable notion. Did they dare tell Manu Ginobili he ...
"I blame myself"
"I blame myself for these two losses. It should be 1-1. My mind is not fatigued. I need to step up. It will be different in Game 3." -- Manu Ginobili "I think being out of gas had somewhat of an effect, but not as much as the good play of the Lakers. We definitely have to have more people playing better to get this done. We thought our last game was our best shot to get something here and ...
Playoffs News - Manu Not At His Best
They look extremely awful and perhaps the best reason they have is tiredness. For the second straight game, the veterans San Antonio Spurs lost to the Lakers, only this time they were blown away 71-101. The Lakers now lead the series 2-0. Lakers Trample Spurs!
In what ended up being a blowout game, the Lakers beat the Spurs 101-71. The Lakers got the rust of their first quarter game and executed terrifically throughout the game. The root of the Spurs problem is the health of Manu Ginobili. He didn't look great in the first half, but he showed some signs in the second. The Spurs need to put all the time and resources they can into making sure Manu is ...

Here are some highlights from last night's game . What's missing, however, was that move where Manu Ginobili dribbled through Pau Gasol's legs. That was something else . Also like to insert the notion that here that I bet, when he's falling asleep at night, Gregg Popovich dreams of world peace, fine wines, and Tim Duncan shooting 85% from the line. And how about that Derek Fisher? He's the ...
"Hurts Like Hell"
That's what Gregg Popovich said, referring to last night's loss to the Lakers, but he might as well have been talking about Manu Ginobili. Each step toward the shower seemed to bring only more pain. ...
Worst of the Night: May 21, 2008
Manu Ginobili: In today's NBA Closer column , I called Manu "Shoeless Joe Ginobili" because it sure seemed like he was trying to throw the game: 10 points, 3-for-13 shooting and 4 turnovers. And at least three of those turnovers came during critical stages of the fourth quarter. Manu kept running into traps or jumping into the air with nowhere to go and then just throwing the ball up for ...

Liveblogging Spurs vs. Hornets Game 7
Whoa. This is a biggie, huh? I guess the conventional wisdom is that the home team will win, right? That's how this series has gone. So before game 6, Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich was already talking about game 7. What happened to taking it one game at a time?
