The NBA Orlando Pro Summer League kicked off with a couple of games today, including a live webcast of the slightly anticipated first meeting between #1 draft pick Derrick Rose and his Chicago Bulls against #2 draft pick Michael Beasley and the Miami Heat .
Beasley was outstanding with 28 points, but was clearly overshadowed by Mario Chalmers . Chalmers put up 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 ...

undraftedfreeagent.blogspot.com 7/9/2008 — Over the span of two days and two games, Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley proved summer league games, in the grand scheme of things, mean little to nothing.

Mario Chalmers wants the starting gig.
Joakim Noah doesn't give a crap.
Russell Westbrook is great.
The rest of the OKC Whatchamacallits are not.
This Magic squad blows.

Orlando NBA Summer League - Day 1 —
Hip 2 Da Game
Day 1 of the Orlando Summer League was today. I got a chance to catch some of the Miami Heat-Chicago Bulls game online and let me tell you, it was pretty ugly to watch and I would imagine most of the games are going to be that way. Here's a rundown of all the action: Game 1 Boxscore: Indiana Pacers 95 Oklahoma City (Sonics) 78 Notables: Russell Westbrook, OK: 18 points, 7-13 FG, 5 ...
Summer League: Beasley vs. Rose —
ROCKETS ADDICTS
Watching the choppy, streaming video of the Miami Heat playing the Chicago Bulls in the Orlando Summer League has proven one thing to me: there will not be enough basketballs to go around in Miami. Every trip down the court, Beasley (22 min. 9-21 FGA, 9-12 FTA, 9 reb., 28 pts.) would stretch out his hands and wave at Mario Chalmers as if he had to ask his kindergarten teacher for permission ...
Tuesday Bullets —
ESPN.com - TrueHoop
Adam Hoff of Section F Sports has long been in love with Mario Chalmers, who had a strong summer league debut: "He showed better playmaking skills than even I expected, his jumper still looked quiet and consistent (as always), and his D was just tremendous. He was physical and quick and doing all the Rondo kinds of things that Seattle spent the #4 pick hoping to get from Russell Westbrook. ...
Miami's Chalmers earning praise at summer league —
NBA - Sports Rumors - Yahoo! Sports
Heat rookie guard Mario Chalmers hasn't arrived yet. But he's on his way. Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird loves him. "I think Mario's the steal of the draft," Bird said after watching a few of Chalmers' games at this week's Orlando Summer League. New Jersey coach Lawrence Frank also had high praise for the 6-foot-1 bundle of energy. Through four games, Chalmers has averaged 16 ...
Durant Done for Summer —
Blue Blitz
Just as suddenly and unexpectedly as he joined the team for the Orlando Summer League, Kevin Durant is done with it altogether.Reportedly, after much deliberation, the summer coaching staff has decided it would be best if the franchise player didn't risk injury in trivial summer development games. Kevin did hint earlier that he would like nothing more than to play against the Miami Heat and ...

This morning, World Champion NBA guard and All-World charity machine Dwyane Wade took some time out of his busy day -- chillin' in the G2 lounge is hard work, people -- to answer some questions from FanHouse about blogging diarying, the Olympics, Mike Beasley , Supernintendo Chalmers , Zo's Summer Groove and his Ipod. Summer League Game Thread: Chicago @ Indiana —
Blog a Bull
Well, yesterday's threads were definitley a shock. Close to 800 comments total on a summer league game.
If you're not aware by now, you must go to the Orlando Magic website to watch these games. They are being streamed live, so if you're at work and can't watch, well you suck at life. Hopefully NBA Observer records the game and is able to send it to whomever is eager to watch it later on.

Are You Watching the NBA 2008 Orlando Pro Summer League? —
Dime Magazine
We're trying to. You can only watch the games on the Orlando Magic's site, and so far, it's pretty horrible. The video gets hung up every few seconds, the viewing window is tiny, you can't see the score, and there is nothing to indicate who is who. Are you all having the same issues?
If you're [...]
Un-Sonics to Begin Wearing Oklahoma City Gear Today in Orlando Summer League —

It was officially over for the city of Seattle last week. But the pain that the fans will inevitably feel that comes from seeing their former team's players wearing the jerseys of another town begins today. The Un-Sonics will be sporting uniforms which read NBA-OKC in the Orlando Summer League , and will be referred to as Oklahoma City in the official box scores from the games.
