I was on Sirius radio this morning to chat with Randy Cross and Coach Dan Reeves about Marion Barber, the Miami Dolphins and the first pick. If you remember, Randy Cross two weeks ago told me that it would be a bad move for the Cowboys to trade up to get Miami's top pick to select McFadden. I asked him to explain why he thought that, and to also discuss Marion Barber's restricted free agency.Rover found this 1/13/2008 on thelandryhat.com
Marion Barber will start tomorrow against the Giants for the first time all year. This isn’t a surprising move at all, and in fact, it more shocking that it took all season long to make this decision. I wonder if Julius Jones’ comments that he had no desire to remain a Cowboy had much to [...]Posted 1/13/2008 on The Big Lead
During the regular season, the Cowboys were a slow-starting team and today has been no different. The playoff trend says the Cowboys should win this game, given that 6 of the 7 teams who have scored first in the playoffs have lost (thanks for doing the research, Fox). Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett went against convention and started Marion Barber and it’s paying dividends: Barber ...Posted 1/13/2008 on FanHouse
The Cowboys were 7.5 favorites heading into today's NFC Divisional game against the Giants, but at the half, it's 14-14. Of course, the Jaguars and Patriots were tied 14-14 at the half on Saturday, but New England ended up winning by 11 points, so it's too early to start crowing asses. One of the concerns coming into this game was that Tony Romo would be suffering some sort of Jessica ...Posted 1/13/2008 on ESPN.com - NFL Nation - Blog
The Cowboys are 8-0 this season when Marion Barber has a touchdown. I have him at 101 yards right now. Seems like someone hinted this week that Barber might have 24 carries. Eli Manning might be a little rusty after the Cowboys' 20-play drive. Oh, there's something I forgot to tell you guys: When Cowboys players picked up their tickets for today's game on Friday, a surprise was waiting ...Posted 1/13/2008 on RotoWire.com NFL Latest News
Marion Barber: The Cowboys have named Barber as their starting RB for Sunday's playoff game against the Giants, the Dallas Morning News reports. Visit RotoWire.com for more analysis on this update.Posted 1/13/2008 on ESPN.com - NFL Nation - Blog
Senior Hashmarks correspondent Ed Werder just called from a playoff watching cookout to inform us that Cowboys running back Marion Barber will start for the first time this season in Sunday's divisional playoff game against the Giants. Barber has emerged as the team's feature back with 204 carries for 975 yards and 10 touchdowns, but Julius Jones had remained the starter. We told you ...Posted 1/7/2008 on Bleacher Report
*That sucking sound you’re hearing is the sound of Ronde Barber being … well, it’s just the sound of Ronde Barber. Though Eli’s payback wasn’t as pronounced as Tom Brady’s to Anthony Smith, he burned Barber with numerous passes to both Toomer and Burress. All would be forgiven but for Barber weaseling on his Giants comments by wanting to ...Published 1/14/2008 on NY Post: Sports
IRVING, Texas - Rookie cornerback Aaron Ross went low to tackle bullish running back Marion Barber in the second quarter of last night's 21-17 playoff victory over the Cowboys and came away with a dislocated shoulder. He was able to return, but left...Published 1/13/2008 on NY Post: Sports
IRVING, Texas - Few players do not start for their own team and get voted into the Pro Bowl but then, Marion Barber is not your typical player. Barber did not start a single game this season, but there's no question he's the Cowboys rushing leader...Published 1/13/2008 on dallasnews.com: Football: Cowboys
