Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez originally said he'd announce the team's Opening Day starter and entire rotation on Tuesday, but then changed his mind.  Both Joe Capozzi and Joe Frisaro wonder whether that's because the Marlins may yet acquire a starter.  Frisaro implies that first baseman Mike Jacobs could be a trade candidate. ... Jacobs is a lefty who strikeouts a 100 times a season but might be athletic enough to play left and did hit a respectable .265. The Mets have Sosa, Figueroa or Armas that might look appealing to Florida, especially if a reliever is thrown. MLBTR looks around the league at some of the names that might interest the Marlins. Another name that could come up is Amazega who was mentioned this winter and is now expendable with the invitees doing well especially with him in his arbitration years...... ...
