The special Independence Day match between the Eastern and Western Conference leaders turned out to be the match that produced the MLS Player of the Week. Adam Cristman scored both of the Revs’ goals, giving the team their second consecutive POW award, after Steve Ralston was voted the honor for Week 14.
The Revolution knocked down Galaxy, but both remain at the top of their conferences. LA, however has lost ground, and Chivas USA has now matched their 21 points for a share of the top of the West.
