Matsui may waive no-trade clause in deal with Giants

In order to approve a trade, the 33-year-old, who is owed $26 million across the next two years, could seek an extension from the Giants. Source: New York Post Related: ...

Matsui still the subject of trade talks
Published 12/11/2007 by Dave & Aziz Nekoukar at NJ.com: Pride of the Yankees
George King makes the Yankees' case to trade Hideki Matsui . We're still on the fence about trading him. Taking Hideki entirely out of the outfield decreases the production significantly. It's not like power will come from Johnny Damon or Melky Cabrera. Yes, there's a need for pitching, and it's a crowded DH spot, and they pay Matsui a lot, but we'd expect little return for Hideki, in light of his salary. But Matsui, though he slumped for awhile last season, is likely the Yanks' most consistent outfielder offensively. His career numbers are: .295 BA, .371 OBP, .485 SLG% -- and ...

Matsui may waive NTC

... struck me as misleading and ill-informed, if not flat-out wrong: *The Yankees and Giants could possibly make a deal involving Hideki Matsui , one that involves either pitchers Noah Lowry or Jonathan Sanchez .
