5 Questions with Rob McMillin of 6-4-2
Published 5/14/2008 by Jeff Sackmann at Brew Crew Ball: Front Page Posts
... A: League? Try, lineup. In Sunday's contest against Houston, he uncharacteristically carried a no-hitter into the seventh, but as Vin Scully mentioned in the TV broadcast, Kuroda tends to wilt the third time through the order. (Baseball-Reference doesn't show this data on his ...

Dodgers' Corroding Offense No Help To Kuroda: Cubs 3, Dodgers 1

... courtesy of Blake DeWitt's RBI single in the top of the fourth: Hiroki Kuroda gave up a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh. Joe Torre correctly took the ensuing Ryan Theriot pinch-hit fielder's choice and Alfonso Soriano single as a sign of his starters' impending collapse, and so he gave the mound over to Jonathan Broxton. Blake DeWitt's error allowed Mike Fontenot to reach (negating DeWitt's earlier RBI), and setting the scene for Broxton's worst implosion since his six run fiasco against the Astros on May 11. The train came off the rails as Broxton proceeded to ...

Moreover, much of his unsightly ERA can be attributed to a May 11th outing when he gave up 6 ER while retiring just one batter. All in all, he should get it straighted out soon. ...

Dodgers Win In Extras? On The Road? Who Are You? Dodgers 7, Astros 6 (11 Innings)
Published 7/2/2008 by Rob (noreply@blogger.com) at 6-4-2 — an Angels/Dodgers double play blog
Missed most of this one as I was at the Angels game, but I have to admit it was a real treat to hear the Dodgers jump out first in this one, especially against Wandy Rodriguez. The game-ender, though, against former Rule 5 draftee Wesley Wright — well, how has his season since he last saw the Dodgers on May 10 and 11? Well, he ended the final game with a 3.46 ERA thanks to an unearned run; he's been pretty awful since, with a 7.07 ERA in 14 IP, including a big kersplat against the Yankees in interleague play, surrendering a grand slam and a ...
