Tim McCarver Calls Manny Ramirez Actions "Despicable"
Published 10/8/2008 at FanIQ Blog
... reality show, I have to admit it's one of the most entertaining baseball stories in recent memory -- right next to the Tampa Bay Rays, of course.
I also agree with McCarver that this "new" Manny Ramirez at age 36 might be the best he's ever been in his career. It's hard to imagine how impressive his career stats would have been if he actually tried every day.
While I want the Rays to win it all, a Sox-Dodgers World Series wouldn't hurt anyone.

Filed under: Dodgers, Red Sox, AL East, NL West, MLB Media Watch, MLB PlayoffsTim McCarver is the lead analyst for Fox baseball, thus, he'll be working the entire NLCS and World Series this season, as usual. As long as the Dodgers stay as hot as they are right now, that's a lot of Manny Ramirez to cover ... and apparently ol' Timmy's not a huge supporter of Manny: "It's extraordinary - the dichotomy between what he was in Boston and what he is in Los Angeles," McCarver said. "I mean, talk about ...

... On the eve of the NLCS between the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers, FOX broadcaster extraordinaire Tim McCarver ripped into Manny Ramirez. Said the former player, “Some of the things he did were simply despicable, despicable - like not playing, refusing to play. Forgetting what knee to limp on. And now it’s washed, it’s gone.” For once, I agree with McCarver. ...

... story until the two teams meet in the World Series, right? Well, not quite, because you can always count on McCarver to insert himself into a controversy as his playoff work begins — sadly, he'll be on the mike for tonight's Game 1 in Philadelphia with Joe Buck, who could care less — even if he's just rehashing things Curt Schilling said a month ago and basing most, if not all, of it on on "facts" the stats don't back up. McCarver, as quoted in the Philadelphia Inquirer: ...
