Heatley heading to Edmonton - maybe
SPILLED OIL —
It looks as if Heatley may be wearing Oiler colours this coming season and, assuming he doesn't ask for a trade, for the three seasons that follow. As of right now it still doesn't look to be official but TSN is reporting that the only hurdle left to clear is Heatley waiving his no trade clause. Going back to Ottawa will be Penner, Cogliano, and Smid. I guess until every I is dotted and T is crossed this isn't done , see the Nylander "signing" for proof of that, but if the deal does go through I've got to say my gut reaction is that I like it, even if I don't like what he did to get out of ...

Dany Heatley did not waive his no-movement clause to facilitate an agreed-upon trade between the Ottawa Senators and Edmonton Oilers that would have sent Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner and Ladislav Smid to Ottawa.
For now, and quite possibly forever, the deal is dead.

Heatley Deal With Edmonton Not Officially Dead
Silver Seven —
In what has become the most confusing newsstory in recent memory, the deal sending Dany Heatley to the Edmonton Oilers is not officially dead. According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, Heatley has not refused the deal outright, he simply has not waived his no movement clause at this time.
You see, as it turns out, the July 1st bonus does not have to be paid until 11:59pm on July 1. This means that the Sens have all day tomorrow to find Dany Heatley a home so that they are not stuck with paying the $4M advance on his $8M salary for the 2009-2010 season.
And Dany? According to ...
Heatley Blocks Trade To Oilers!
Puck Central - A New York Rangers & NHL fan Blog —
TSN reporting that Heatley hasn't approved of a deal to send him to Edmonton The first thing you should know is that the Dany Heatley trade to Edmonton is not officially dead. At least not yet. It's true that Dany Heatley did not waive his no-movement clause when requested by the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, but that isn't to say it's not still possible for him to waive it on Wednesday. He has, technically speaking, not issued an outright refusal to move. The confusion on all of this surrounded a perceived deadline of midnight Tuesday night for the Senators to move ...

... Moving to the Dany Heatley situation, which is of interest to Rangers fans, McKenzie confirms that the $4 million bonus due him comes midnight tonight and not midnight last night so there’s still time for a deal to be done for the Sens and not have to absorb that money. He also confirms Edmonton has offered three players — Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner and Ladislav Smid — to Ottawa for Heatley but Heatley has exercised his no-trade clause — for the moment — on this deal (and here’s Mac’s TSN.ca post from late last night on the situation) . Mac says some in Ottawa don’t ...
