We're not talking about Tim Duncan here. He's not an all-star. He does get worn down by guys bigger than him. And his offense is about as versatile as a hammer. You don't ...

... It may have been surprising we got it that close. The gap between these teams right now isn't huge and Houston is a full-on rooster while Portland's still poking its way out of the egg.
One take-away point here for the Blazers is that, drama aside, it's a lot easier to get those extra points with a little extra work and concentration in the second and third quarters than it is to make all of them up at the end like that.

The Rockets have also signed D-League dunk champ, James "Flight" White to a 10-day contract. The Raptors on the other hand, are losers of two in a row and struggled with Shaquille O'Neal on Friday, leading Shaq to go on a barrage of comments calling Chris Bosh "The Rupaul of big men"and the centres of the league "barbecue chicken". The Jazz have already lost twice to the Rockets, so should be meet up again in the playoffs, heaven forbid, we'll need to even up the season series in case we end up with identical records. That's the first motivation.

The Blazers would love 1 of 2 in Houston, knowing still that they have another home game to fall back on should that not happen. The Blazers aren't in control by any means. The proper approach to this game is to be loose and relaxed enough that you play your game without fear (you have some cushion now and the pressure is on Houston to win both of these) but yet be focused and intense enough to perform well (you can nullify their blowout win and put them back on their heels tonight). No. 10: Yao Ming
Yao was a popular No. 9 choice on many ballots, but was left off enough to finish 10th. Bright Side of the Sun voted Yao sixth, saying that "his health alone deserves a vote." The Dream Shake called Yao a "bad ass."

... We took their best blow, responded and then some. But their ancillary players outplayed ours. Part of it was effort. Part of it was overall dependability. Part of it was that their supporting cast got better shots in the flow of the offense while ours went one-on-one because they broke down our team defense more than we broke theirs. But any way you slice it this wasn't a good way to lose.
