Miller getting healthy in Caribbean | indians.com: News

Choo to WBC; Shapiro knows something... I know it
The Tribe Daily — You know the Indians haven't really made a big deal about this whole military thing when it comes to Shin-Soo Choo. They've been like Choo, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. But Mark Shapiro said something regarding the issue that makes me think. Choo has been granted the go-ahead to play in the World Baseball Classic this Spring, despite being on the DL for more than 45 days. Fortunately, the final signing was prefaced by the general manager stating “the lion's share of our resources have been committed,” so I knew not to get my hopes up. Still, Shapiro is one of the best around at identifying low risk, high reward players, stretching every available dollar, so something had to be up. Who will Shap’s rehab project be in 2009? Cleveland fans, meet your new left fielder…..Sammy Sosa! No, just kidding (sorry to anyone who just did a spit-take onto their monitor). Seriously though, Carl ...
