Darrell Rasner (W 2-0)(right) was genius again for the second straight start in a row in the Yankees 5-2 victory over the Tigers. He pitched 6 innings of 2-run ball, one was an inherited runner allowed in by Kyle Farnsworth. Rasner gave up 4 hits, 1 walk, and had 1 K. After Farnsworth gave up the 1 inherited run he got through his inning of work without giving up a run. Then came the real show. Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera were their usual selves. Lets take a look at two entertaining games from earlier today: Yankees 5, Tigers 2 I tell you what, Darrell Rasner is pitching well, going six strong innings today. Combined with a good bullpen effort, great pitching for them today. If Rasner can be a solid number five option, than the Yankees would be thrilled. Derek Jeter actually hit his first homer today. Wilson Betemit hit an RBI double, but went on the DL with a strained right hamstring. Looks like Morgan Ensberg will be getting the bulk of at-bats at third until A-Rod comes back. All the pre-season fears about the M's are coming true. No offense, bad defense, and struggling pen. Throw in the fact that King Felix hasn't turned that magical corner to domination and it's been a frustrating season...just look at the attendance figures. Oh, and forget about the post-season, the window of opportunity is gone with the Angels getting Lackey back soon.
