B-REF PREVIEW | GAMEDAY | WEATHER | ACB CHAT ROOM Greg Maddux vs. Cubs hitters:  .212/.244/.326 in 184 at-bats Ryan Dempster vs. Padres hitters:  .280/.341/.476 in 82 at-bats 60s, wind blowing in at 11 mph towards the Cubs dugout.  1:20 on WGN. Blanco will probably get the start today with the day game after the night game and that’s not a bad thing.  He’s about the only Cubs who has had much of any success against Maddux.  Dempster needs to stay away from Brian Giles.

... Giles absolutely kills him -- .406/.487/.750 (13-for-32, 3 doubles, a triple, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 6 BB). Otherwise he handles these guys pretty well, apart from, of all people, Maddux, who is 2-for-5 lifeetime vs. Dempster (a single, a double). Today's game is on CSN -- no San Diego TV, so Cub fans won't be subjected to the bleatings of the worst announcer in baseball, Matt Vasgersian. For more see the MLB.com Mediacenter.
